Natasha Tucker
Natasha, a Nova Scotia native, a lover of marine adventures and most importantly, a fierce advocate for the health of our oceans through the elimination of single-use plastics. With a strong educational background in Business Management, along with her past work experiences, predominantly in Retail and Tourism Management, Natasha is beyond thrilled to combine her love of leadership with her passion for ocean conservation to lead Mind Your Plastic as the Executive Director.
Through many years of living along various coastlines of Canada, Natasha has developed a deep appreciation for the ocean and subsequently spends the majority of her time near it! Whether she’s scuba diving, learning to surf, walking her dog or most importantly, leading beach cleanups, she is most content near the ocean. Natasha’s mission is to connect people to the oceans and inspire change to reduce marine debris for a healthier ocean. Her infectious passion for ocean conservation is evident through extensive volunteer work, having spent time volunteering in numerous public education roles, marine mammal rescue, advising on the Ban the Bottle project at the Vancouver Aquarium in 2017, and coordinating shoreline cleanups for large retail corporations. She currently resides in Halifax where she sits on the Board of Directors for the Back to the Sea Society and volunteers with the Fishing Gear Coalition of Atlantic Canada.
