Katie Ayer is a Grant Coordinator at The Good Samaritan Society, a leading non-profit organization in Western Canada that provides high-quality accommodation, health, and community care services. Katie oversees grants from conceptualization to final reporting. Her career began as a volunteer grant writer, progressed to working as an independent contractor and in the corporate world before fully diving into the non-profit sector. Additionally, Katie is a Sessional Professor at Concordia University of Edmonton in the Department of English, where she enjoys developing students’ writing abilities, confidence, and critical thinking skills. Her love of outdoor activities (e.g., hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, climbing) has played a large part in her desire to volunteer with an organization dedicated to protecting the environment.
