Christian Codrington
Prior to starting Forum HR, Christian has held senior roles with a number of significant employers in BC. Most recently as the Director of Human Resources for the Industry Training Authority (ITA).
Before ITA he held a senior leadership roles at the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources–BC (CPHR-BC), the provincial HR association. Before CPHR-BC, Christian led human resources teams at Best Buy Canada supporting a wide range of business units. He has also worked at Starbucks Coffee, Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of BC, and Service Canada in various HR/LR roles. In these roles he was responsible to create and deliver many human resource related initiatives, negotiated, interpreted and managed within the parameters of numerous collective agreements, as well as represented each organization at the Labour Relations Board, Human Rights Tribunal, and small claims courts.
Since 2016, he has worked with the Immigrant Employment Council of BC and Inclusion BC to develop resources to support employers hire and integrate new Canadians and persons with intellectual disabilities into the workplace.
Christian graduated from Simon Fraser University studying Business Administration concentrating in Organizational Behaviour. He added to those learnings with certificates from the Justice Institute of BC, one in Conflict Resolution and Third-Party Negotiation and another in Mediation.
Currently, Christian is instructing a number of human resources classes in the Faculty of Business Administration + Media at the BC Institute of Technology.
Christian was drawn to human resources because he is drawn to see teams succeed and feels effective people management can be a pivotal piece in supporting organizations achieve their goals. He has two sons who, along with himself play guitar, and are all still working at making music together.
