As someone who was raised in Nova Scotia, I have a great appreciation for the ocean and natural world. Growing up, I spent many days exploring the environment and its innate beauty, and still continue to do so through a love for activities such as hiking, paddling, and swimming. Having the opportunity to have experienced these natural wonders is what motivates me to advocate for the environment and sustainability. I am currently entering my fourth year at the University of Ottawa, where I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences. My field of study has allowed me to learn about the intersection between health and environment, as well as gain a greater understanding of the relationships between pollution and health on a global scale. On campus, I have leadership roles in several clubs, including the University of Ottawa Society of Environmental Awareness, where my role encompasses planning awareness events and advocating for sustainable measures. My experiences have allowed me to develop skills in marketing, research, and outreach, which I hope to bring to the MYP team.
